I'm with Sam there. Run the flame factory type arrestor since you mentioned you have one? I think I might have a template kit for the hole in the base if you need one. Easy to drill that and mount the arrestor.

I think you might have less issue if you ditch that fuel log and run a conventional set of hard lines? Just saying. :)

You can usually find the flame arrestor's in junk yards on 68?? to maybe 72 Chevy pickups or even the bigger trucks with that air cleaner set up.

Yes running a fiberglass crossram hood. The fuel log is a part of the Edelbrock STR10 kit. I bought the intake quite a few years ago NOS. It had everything including directions, fuel log and fittings and linkage. I think I found what I need. Should be here in a couple of days. I will report back.

I could use the correct spot to drill the intake Graeme.

So.... It went better than expected! Found a fitting. It was a bulkhead heater hose fitting made by vintage air part number 34236-vug. Bought at Summit for 19.00 + shipping. It is a 5/8 fitting, but the 3/4 went over the "fat" end which is used for the hose stop.

Graeme (NorCam) sent me some great pics on where to drill the hole. (Thanks Graeme!) Drilled with a unibit. Also drilled the top for the cotter pin with a 1/8 bit.

Installed a 90 deg fitting on the valve cover. I have to find the box with all the valve cover fittings so this plastic one was used for mock up till that box is found. Cut in the 3/4 heater hose. Installed in less than an hour.
