The picture is deceiving. The ones I've used have a cast aluminum finish. If your pulley doesn't hide the logo, you can easily sand it off. Wouldn't take much to seal the deal- but I understand the value in a truly authentic casting.

I too am contemplating putting an aluminum "L88" water pump on my big block chevelle.
You can make 2 spacers to convert the short pump into a Long one but then you may still have issues with the alternator mounting points

Mine is made just like the cast iron pump, with all of the mounting holes in the correct locations. If you painted it you wouldn't be able to tell it was aluminum.

Freddie, aka Biggearhead, steered me to something that should work. This is an early version of a Weiand hipo aluminum water pump model 8243 which debuted in the early 70’s. Thank you sir!
