It makes me wonder if the fact that the original owner was in the military, this influenced the Green interior color choice. Beautiful car- GLWS

If you read the docs, FO's first choice was blue interior.

The original owner was intending to order a '70 model with blue interior if available. It may have been that he could get in on the '69 run and went with green. He may have wanted the 427 but I'm not sure. Looks like he also specified an M21 but it came delivered with the M20. I have not been able to locate Mr. Rice.

How do you order a 1970 Corvette in April of 1969?
Who changed the intake manifold? |
Also interesting is that its an MA-6 car only a 102 in 69'
Probally the only silver/green one fusure!!! I see the order form has MA-6, so I assume the car has that on the tank sticker!! Neat car!! |

Not sure how you'd order a '70 in April of '69, Lee. It was built the second week of October. Probably close to pushing into the '70 production. It was stamped on the order form as such. No one changed the intake. I'm curious what would indicate that it was.
RTS, The MA6 option didn't make it on the car. The M21 didn't either. |
390's in other year vettes are cast iron, 69's are aluminum!
I'm sure the 3.08 ratio u needed to have the M-20 2.52 first gear instead of the 2.20 M-21 |
And maybe the a/c dictated the 3.08 for overheating issues.

If you have not already, I think the "B" address listed on the invoice would be a good area to start looking for Mr. Rice. The name is not that common and you might get lucky. Maybe you have access to Ancestry or know someone who does. I hope this helps. |
