----Is that a sidedraft Weber big-block intake? I had Al Maynard looking for one of those for me for a long time. VERY rare!......Bill S

I believe it is a greenwood crossram magnesium intake. But im not sure it does have what appears to be a 7 digit gm number and /00 on it.

The Weber intake is cool. Looks like Small Block. Cool finds! The ZL1 block looks to be in awesome shape from what I can see.

Here is the Greenwood Kinsler on the car we took to Goodwood and Le Mans classic in 2012
Couldn't get it to run right and after a few people took a crack at it Jessie got it right

The woman I bought it from had purchased it directly from Paul Newman in 1984. He was staying at a place that Barabara Streisand owned called Miramar? in Santa Barbara. She was given Paul Newmans info from Bill Freemans[Newmans race partner] wife Cindy, who sold her alot of memorabilia prior to her buying Newmans motor . King Engines did the work on it in 1974. Andy Granatelli bought alot of the parts and items that Bill Freeman was selling including a boat load of "16 inch wide magnesium wheels" etc I am told. He stated that freeman was having financial issues hence the sell off . Im told that Smokey Yunick was in Santa Barabara buying stuff as well. Trying to find out why the ZL1 block etc made it through all the scavengers. May have been the price. I was contacted by the owners friend who found my website online. He sent the motor without payment, and asked me to either send payment or return it after I looked at it and was happy . It is in the best condition of any ZL1 block Ive ever owned. Very trustworthy seller for sure.

Kinda restores your faith in humanity. I've always lived by the golden rule and will continue to do so; Chuck, it sounds like your reputation preceded you on this transaction. It doesn't cost a penny extra to "do the right thing" and in this instance the dividends were quite handsome. Sure is neat to have Smokey in the mix, the mold was definitely broken after he emerged. That piece you have is virtually priceless to enthusiasts like us......GREAT SCORE!

I think those Kinsler FI units were listed in the old Chevy Power catalogs with all the racing cams, rods, pistons, gear drives, etc with GM part numbers

There were many editions of those catalogs going back to the 1970s so not sure which ones had them
