Just my opinion, but I believe the black one is worth $200, and assuming that is grease and not rust on the bottom of the assembly line pan, $550 for the pan and windage tray together. Another $50 if you have the studs.

The black/nos is not assembly line correct, although it will work fine as long as you use the correct thicker front seal.

NOS front radius 2.5 inches from peak of radius to top of pan (flip pan on flat surface to measure)
NOS has a center crease assembly line correct don't.
NOS has a second step on pan bottom.

Assembly line front radius measures 2 5/16 inches from peak of radius to top of pan (flip pan on flat surface to measure)

I agree Steve. I think that is what we said, only without the dimensions.

Bead blasted, filled it with water and found a pinhole.

Re: Need to buy 69 z28 oil pan.

Bummer. Do you know the history on that one? Is it off a 68 maybe? I know the drain plug would be interchangeable, but I think the 69 had a 9/16 hex.

To the OP. I have a couple projects going today, but I believe I have at least one correct 69 pan. Don't know if I will get a chance to pull it out, clean it up and check it out today, but can if you are interested.

If you aren't concerned with it being assy line correct, Charlie's black painted pan will do the job fine, as Steve stated.

So the difference between a 68 and 69 pan is the drain plug?

I am not sure Dan. I believe that is one difference. I have not compared 67, 68 and 69 side by side, so I can't say if there are other differences.

I remember locating a true 67 Z pan for a member here a few years back. Belonged to a friend who had put the 67 Z engine in his 57 race car (Z was wrecked) and kept the pan in his attic for years. I did not however, have possession of ito to make any comparisons to an original 69 pan or an original 68 pan.

Ebay oil pan
That's a fair price for an OTC pan.
