How accurate is the 8418 NOS Solenoid Cap that Heartbeat City sells.....
(THe HBC web city doesnt allow me to copy/paste a picture)

No help on that.
Blue car is put up.
That is the only car here we feel safe in saying 'factory starter" still there.

Two of the converts probably are factory and are black also.
Dates and numbers on starters are right, but cars both have replaced short blocks.

Here is your DELCO NOS Solenoid and the HeartBeat City NOS Black Cap...........

On something that is so hard too see and judge ........what is the problem
with the HBC cap.........

On HBC Cap NO "U" in USA

Huge difference in quality.
All you need to look at is the Delco logo.

I have a background in gun and coin collecting so this is elementary level to me.

All depends what level of detail you seek.
If that is indeed a "NOS" cap it is much later than the period one I posted.

They are not expensive or hard to find so it should be no big deal.

You asked.

Should add for any that may look for these.
The metal body is dated and numbered.

The caps surely did not all come from the same mold so expect slight variances.

This is a good time for those that care about minutia to study these 2 examples.
IMHO they are not even close.
The one may well be 'NOS", but it looks like a much later issue replacement to me.

Should add I am not a judge, never was and never will be.

Only look at our cars like this or cars that we are buyjng.

No intent to ruffle feathers.

"They are not expensive or hard to find so it should be no big deal."

Please suggest where I can find a good quality not expensive
Black Solenoid Front Cap ?????

lesson learned hopefully.
"KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF OTHERS AFFAIRS"

epay,
starter- alternator repair shop,
junkyard with older models,
swap meet
etc.

Take a good pic of one with and match it up.
Unless broken- chipped a used one will be fine.

Last NOS one cost us $28 on epay.

You will find they are real common.
