Re: File an eBay case?

The seller had no close up pictures of the chrome. From a distance, they look great and he states that the wheels look great in the description. He specifically does not mention the chrome condition because he knows there is something wrong with it.

There are two concerns here.... one, the "ask a question" feature would have beeen a great tool to use and ask the seller what the chrome condition was since it was not mentioned in the ad before purchasing.

Two, you bid without asking any questions and just went off the 2 sentences and 4 pictures the seller had listed. I would haver a hard time purchasing anything with just a minimal description and 4 pictures but thats just me.

In my opinion since the guy won't respond, I would just file the paypal claim and consider it a lesson learned.

The fact that he completely ignored chrome condition

I'd did ask a question about the lug pattern and with his response he again reinterated how nice they were. I guess that boosted my confidence in them. But yes I should have asked specifically about the chrome. It was foolish of me to think that the chrome condition was a no brainer based on the ad description. Indeed lesson learned and I tend to trust people more that I should. Thanks guys. I'll file the PP claim and see what happens.

Re: File an eBay case?

Darrin,

Recently, I had a problem with a seller over a NOS oil pressure gauge. After confering with the seller and no reasonable results, I filed a claim with eBay. It took 2 weeks to process and I provided information and photos to support my point. I was successful in getting my money back. They do seem to have a level of accountability they hold the seller to.

An opposing comment, I did buy a car that was terribly misrepresented. After trying to persue that one, I just had to put some salt on and eat it.

My point................it's a crap shoot. But, certainly worth the effort.

You have the option to upgrade it to a PayPal case.

Re: File an eBay case?

I had a case filed with Ebay for an improperly described aluminum intake. I took pictures and sent them in with my complaint.
Ebay agreed with me and refunded all my money, including shipping charges, and let me keep the intake. I think the seller may have learned a lesson about trying to pull a fast one.
