Stock single point distributors work the best IMO. Rebuild them and set them up on a SUN machine for a better curve and you are done!

I've found that a stock Delco distributor set up properly and using D112P HD points works just fine in any rpm range that our L72 or L78 engines cared to turn. It's amazing at how worn the pivots and bushing in a distributor can get and it is just a matter of rebuilding what you have to get the performance back.

It is amazing how much power you can get with a good recurve distributor.
