Just speculating based on how far the rear was pushed in... combined with the fact that the airbags on the Trailblazer did not deploy. If it was tubbed, I'm assuming it would lose some structural integrity. Again....just hypothesizing.

Does not look like it is tubbed or has too large tire wheel combo.

Driver who caused the crash was a 77 year old female.. I'm sorry, but you see more and more elderly people involved in crashes. I think once you hit a certain age the driving requirements should become more stringent and it should be mandatory that you pass another test or your license should be taken away!! There are too many elderly people that should not be on the roadways.

I have nothing against the elderly and some are fantastic drivers, but there are some that just have no business driving and are literally a moving "time bomb" waiting to injury or kill themselves or someone else.. I ride a motorcycle and see this quite often..

Driving is a privilege not a right.....

Last Thursday I had to help cut a 43 year old man out of his truck and another very seriously injured man from his SUV after he slammed the pickup head on at a combined speed of 120 mph while not paying attention. I felt pretty safe in my 1 ton Dually until I saw what can really happen if hit in the wrong place. You could not see daylight looking through the drivers door of the deceased man's truck and the engine was nearly besides him.

I think a lot of people feel safe in big trucks, by the way they drive them, but I've seen some horrific crashes over the years. This one was a couple of years ago when I was coming south from Fort McMurray, Ab. A 1 ton dually, and a 3/4 ton met coming in opposite directions. The Dually had a pallet of bags of cement, and was towing a trailer loaded with insulation on an icy road when a crosswind caught them by surprise. The pickup T-boned the Dually, and this was the result. 2 dead and 4 critically injured. You'll notice the bed on the Dually is flat upside down, and the front is on it's side. The frame twisted that much.

They are very sad pics...

We in Germany here have the same "Problem" with elderly people in traffic...

And please note:

- all Roads are cramped and smaller here like yours
- the Speed is higher (some roads have no speed limit!)
- the whole traffic are more stressful then yours

But no way! You can drive your car till you fall out of it in case of... whatever...

The sad true:

I mostly times of the accidents, the perpetrator has got an injury, the involveds are dead... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif

I don't know the TNT term but the original 'Jaws of Life' units were another of George Hurst's creations weren't they?.
