This 61 vert looked like an impossible task for a pro. A firstimer doing work like that is more than impressive.

This guy may give our very own "McGyver" a run for his money.

WOW!! I thought the stuff that I was working on was junk. That guy has me beat ten fold! I don't feel so bad now.

......and if you read toward the end of the thread (can't remember exactly which page it's on) he has now purchased a white 61 ragtop for future restoration that is, by his own admission, in WORSE shape! Hard to imagine that https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Another thing that impressed me was the number of newly registered site members (or existing members who are first time posters) who have made a point of telling this guy what an incredible job he's doing https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Finally, I may have been premature in presuming that the car could end up being a lowrider https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Many of the pictures show the car on lowrider type tires and wheels. As someone else here noted, even if it does become a lowrider, the workmanship is amazing.

I agree totally with the drive that this guy has to save this car from the crusher! I was rude not too mention that! He has my vote for a devoted restorer, wether it's a lowrider or not. My hat is off to him for sure.

-----Hey Bill,,,I believe he mentioned (traditional) 13 inch tires at one point so you are probably right about the lowrider part. That does not in any way diminish the unbelieveable amount of work and apparent love that is going into this project. He is just a really dedicated guy with a vision..........Bill S
