Finally,

I though you knew about, or restored them all.

That one sold one or twice a few years ago.

This 300 Deluxe Coupe looked like a perfect car.

It sold once in original condition (once painted) then with an engine bay restoration.

Why, Why, Why the plastic cowl covers

At the time they obviously did not know where to get the correct seat material. Rear trunk seal was also replaced. I wonder if he kept the original valve covers......perhaps may be worth a call, if you have his number?

Great Chevelle.

Ralph didn't even own that Chevelle until 1998,when he bought it @ the VOLO auto auction.
The bidding stalled at 10K,so Ralph raised his hand and so did some other bidders,(who we later found out were VOLO employees, imagine that..),who raised the price to Ralphs ceiling of somewhere around 22K.They outbid Ralph,so he let it go.
Days after the auction,Ralph was contacted by VOLO saying the high bidder backed out,and was he still interested. He said he was,and they sold him the car for 22K + taxes.
It was on display in their building for a year prior with an asking price of 20K.
Ralph didn't know that.

FWIW.....My 1970 L78 Chevelle won both VetteFests' Gold Spinner & Top Gun awards 2 years in a row during fall 2002-2003.
I remember Al F. telling me it was the first Chevelle to ever win a Top Gun award in 2002,and then the next year, back to back as well.

Rick,

Great story.....I can see Ralph doing just that

Ha, perhaps Al tells that to everyone..... but now after these facts, I believe your Chevelle may be the First 1970 Chevelle to win both awards and Greg`s was the First 1969 Chevelle to have won both awards.

Two Fantasic Chevelle`s

Re: 1969 Monaco Orange L78 300 Deluxe Post Sedan Resto

Got a call last night a freind who's a roofer was doin a job around the corner from my home ( ST. Clair Shores, Mi) and he said the owner of the house opened his garage and there sat 2 69 chevelles. One being a Maroon/Red 69 ss 300 deluxe post car. So he started asking questions. The Owner said he was the original owner and the car was completely original. He said the owner pulled the original motor and replaced it with a 427 when the car was first bought. Said the original motor was/is stored in the corner of garage.According to my freind the car has very very low original miles. Yea I know almost sounds like a fantasy story. lol Im definitely gonna look into it for myself.

My question to all of you is, does anyone know or seen this 69 ss post car and Im gonna approach this gentlemens home just to inquire about the car but how/what should I say. I dont want him thinking im after his car if it even exists. First I have to locate the home then im gonna drive by until I see the garage opened to see what's in it. Any other suggestions?

Roofers find all the neat cars! Thats how my black 72 Formula 455HO was found. During a roof estimate, the owner's widow opened up the garage, and there it was.
