Good thoughts on that. No sprinklers in there, but there is water access all around and I will have fire extinguishers by the doors. Yes, that’s not as effective as a fire sprinkler system, but at least if something is noticed and caught nobody’s scrambling to get a hose or anything.

Man, that is so tragic. I feel so bad for your friends and their loss. What a shame.
Great idea with the smoke detectors and alarm in the house. Who knows? Today, they might even make an app fir that!! Cheers Dave |
While your doing it, go ahead and get some cameras set up too. Then you can look on your phone and see whats happening. We have 3 different places wired and it uses a dvr that records when motion sets it off. Works good, I can look and see if anyone is working while on vacation or how deep the snow is! Ours are Lorex brand. I had a young tech guy set them up so not sure how difficult. Some of ours are wireless

I used the nest brand. Really good stuff

Great idea too, Bill. We were planning on that, it just slipped my mind with everything else that's on it! :scholar:
Back at it today! Soooooo long shoulders! Cheers Dave |

We're at the two month point on the barn build and I'm happy to report that yesterday was monumental day! The last board went in yesterday! Well, should I say the last plank. There's still all the cedar trim and staining to do, but still, this was prestigigeous day in all things barny.
So, what's one to do when that moment arises that the last board gets nailed in? Simple! Have the wife snap the photo for prosperity purposes, strike a few poses, dance, then fall off the scaffolding! :rolleyes2: I'm just kidding..... I can't dance:no::biggthumpup:. I started laying the tile down in the tack room too. I'll post final photos after the trim and staining is done and then I guess that'll be it for this project. Then it's onto the shops shop I can start into the cars!! More to come, one more time! Cheers:beers: Dave |
Pictures look great! But why are you ending in the middle of a ceiling/floor? You should be ending at a wall, not in the center :)
|
Yes, you'd think that, Kevin. But the width of the boards and the distance between angles makes a half piece, or a 3/4 piece, necessary to make up the gap. I thought it better to have that on ffor ceiling so it's not overly noticeable versus lower on the wall/ ceiling junction.
Plus, it's waaaaaaaay easier to deal with that on the scaffolding rather than lower which is closer to the ground! :hmmm::rolleyes2: Cheers Dave |
Beautiful Dave :)
You should be very proud. Dan |
