........... The restoration of the Chevelle should start in '06 and should be complete for the '07 SCR.

Re: FIRST BALDWIN MOTION SS 427 CHEVELLE FOUND!!!!

The '67 BM Chevelle is still patiently awaiting restoration. I have continued to gather parts and recently scored a correctly dated 427 that was sold new over the counter at Berger Chevrolet in 1967. My 69 Yenko Camaro is on track to be finished later this year, so I can get another car started once it is completed. My 69 BM Camaro is close to completion as well. It is painted and just needs the engine installed and a few finishing touches. The shop doing the BM Camaro is EXTREMELY slow and I may need to pull it from them. Not much progress on that one in the past year.

The other more recent find is a '70 BM Phase III Chevelle, 1 of 3 documented by Joel. More details later.

so is this where the two hot BM threads join together? Any fresh pictures of the 67, even a pile of parts in the trunk? The "organ pipe" speakers? New owner smiling?

Just had a nice conversation with Joel Rosen about the car and he certainly remembered it. In fact, he told me a story of when he was racing it in 1968 at NY National Speedway and flipped it over after losing traction with the skinny 7" slicks that were on it. that explains why the roof was replaced on the car. He said he was upside down in the car hanging by the lap belt and John Mahler had to get him out. He wasn't seriously injured, just shaken up but did go to the hospital to make sure he did not break anything. He also told me was that he was pretty sure that it was the only '67 Chevelle he built. He is going to look though his files and see if he has any paperwork from when the car was built.

One final thing he mentioned was Marty Schorr's upcoming book on the Motion history and that he had been working very closely with Marty. He was wondering if there would be demand for a nice hard cover coffee table type book and perhaps an autographed limited edition. I'm sure there would be quite a few site members that would be very interested. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

[/ QUOTE ]any word on how the book is coming https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif
