Here's some hope for you. While I have a 69 Copo Camaro (the Tin Soldier) I also found my high school car several years ago. To anyone else, nothing special. To me, first car I kissed a girl in and first car I drag raced in. It was in a junkyard and as bad as this one. I sent it to Goodmark (back then) and they replaced all the metal on it.
