I've Recently purchased a 69 nova 4 speed car that i believe was a big block four speed car and possibly and L78 originally.

69 69 cortez silver 731 interior, no gauges

IIRC the "tuftrided" Open chamber L88 cranks were kinda grey- mottled...

I'm not an expert, but I believe the L88 got the 7115 crankshaft, not the 6223. Casting date is Dec 18 '68.
