I would suspect that engine suffix “E3” would be related to Tonawanda installing a flexplate with 6 holes for that 6-lug converter hence, “Don’t forget the Extra 3 holes!”

I’ve heard conflicting stories on that red Nova. That it was a Gibb/Harrell car and that it wasn’t so I can’t commit 100% to its pedigree. IIRC, a broken Cragar wheel caused the crash.

Make sure you final tighten those two carrier bearing bolts with the rear axle loaded. Also, shine a light thru that driveshaft tunnel to inspect & clean the mating surface where the bearing resides.

ARP has a Stainless 300 material for fasteners....

ARP has a Stainless 300 material for fasteners. Its tensile & yield is slightly weaker than CM but still higher than a Grade 8 bolt.
